Davinci IQ Vs Davinci MIQRO: Which one is right for you?

Davinci IQ Vs Davinci MIQRO: Which one is right for you?

July 24, 2019

Based on appearance alone, the Davinci IQ and the Davinci Miqro seem to be very similar. However, despite them both offering some of the best vaping experiences available, they are each designed for very different types of users.

Below we list their individual strengths and features to help you decide which one is right for you!

Pretty as a picture

In 2019, vaporizers are not only expected to provide great experiences; they’re expected to look great too. Both the Davinci IQ and MIQRO do not disappoint - they are easily two of the best looking vaping devices available.

Similar to the Pax 3, their entire body is made out of anodized aluminium and lack a visible mouthpiece.

Despite looking so elegant, both the devices feel solid to hold and can take a knock or two.

Davinci has also dropped the screen that was on their previous vaporizers and replaced it with LEDs. These lights cleverly convey really useful information and look great too, especially in a dark room!

Size matters

At just 3.5 inches tall, the IQ is already similar in size to other uber-portable vaporizers such as the Pax 3 and the Crafty. However, the Miqro really pushes the boundaries of how small a portable vape can be.

Somehow the MIQRO is only 33% of the size of the IQ without any noticeable sacrifice in vaping performance. The Davinci IQ is already small enough to be considered a true portable vape but the Miqro is simply the smallest vaporizer I’ve ever used!

You can conceal the whole vaporizer in your hand as your vape which makes it the perfect stealthy travel companion. This year it has already accompanied me to a few festivals and no one could tell where the smell was coming from!

Vaping Experience

Both the IQ and the Miqro provide the premium vaping experience you’d come to expect from a brand as prestigious as Davinci.

The devices share a ceramic zirconium oven and airpath. Ceramic Zirconium transmits flavour as well as glass but has the advantage of being over 20 times stronger.

They also share an interesting piece of innovation that Davinci have christened 'the pearl'.

The pearl helps to evenly distribute heat within the oven and it also helps to cool the vapour down before it reaches your mouth. This results in a vapour that is every bit as tasty as it is potent.

The IQ does have a serious advantage over the MIQRO; it's cloud product easily beats that of the MIQRO. The IQ effortlessly produces plumes of cloud and allows you to take huge hits.

The Miqro also has an advantage of its own! It has a much lighter draw resistance than the IQ. The reduced resistance allowed me to feel the effects of vaping far more quickly whilst using fewer herbs.

To conclude, the IQ has a slight edge over the MIQRO when it comes to vapour quality but the difference between the two is negligible.

The IQ is a great choice if you're able to vape 'loud and proud' whilst the MIQRO is probably for you if you require a bit of stealth.

No matter which device you choose, both devices offer the premier experience Davinci have built their reputation on.

Not just smart; intelligent too!

The Miqro has all the features you’d come to expect from a top dry herb vaping brand such as Davinci.

It offers haptic feedback, precision temperature control and boost mode. However, the most interesting feature is its ‘smart paths’ mode. This mode gradually increases the temperature by twenty degrees as you vape, drawing out all the cannabinoids. As a result, it promises full spectrum vaping. The MIQRO has the same default Smart Paths as the IQ:

  • Smart Path 1: 350°F – 370°F
  • Smart Path 2: 370°F – 390°F
  • Smart Path 3: 390°F – 410°F
  • Smart Path 4: 410°F – 430°F

On the contrary, the Davinci IQ uses its extra size to squeeze in a few more extra features.

First is the flavour chamber. Like the oven, this is also made of zirconia ceramic. Its special feature is that it is wide enough to hold some extra dry herbs to add flavour to your sessions. I’ve tried it with hibiscus, dried ginger and mint and they each enhance the flavour profile of my herbs.

Whilst it is fun to experiment with flavours, I don’t really see this catching on for the everyday user, so I doubt you’ll miss this if you choose the MIQRO.

Another feature the IQ has over the Miqro is a smartphone app. This connects to your vaporizer via Bluetooth and adds further features such as stealth mode, helpful videos and precise temperature settings.

Easily the best feature, however, is the customizable smart paths. Rather than being restricted to the four default options, the IQ allows you to create your own bespoke ten-minute vaping journies. It is quite fun to experiment with. You can use the IQ 100 times and it is possible that no two sessions would be the same!

Power up

I have lost count how many days out I've had ruined by running out of battery! The IQ and Miqro solve this with replaceable batteries which are an absolute godsend!

Due to the size difference of the devices, the batteries in the two devices are very different. The bigger of the two uses a single 3500mAh cell which is similar to that of the Pax 3 and slightly bigger than the Crafty.

On the other hand, the Miqro's battery only holds 900mAh of charge. This is actually quite a substantial difference!

As a result, the IQ powers up far more quickly and will reach vaping temperature in just 16 seconds compared to 30 seconds of the Miqro which to be fair, in its price bracket is very competitive.

The IQ also offers more sessions per charging cycle too. With a full battery, I managed 8 ten minute sessions with the IQ compared to just 4 with the Miqro.

However, again the MIQRO does have a small advantage. It will reach full battery capacity in just 1.5-2 hours tops, while the IQ can take 3 hours to reach full charge.

Again, heavy users should look no further than the IQ for a powerful vaping experience. Despite its small battery, the IQ offers more than enough juice for a casual user who will only vape 2-4 times a day.

So should you choose the Davinci IQ or the Davinci MIQRO?

UK Davinci IQ & Miqro on a table

The Davinci IQ sits within the very upper echelons of dry herb vaporizers in terms of price, however, its performance more than justifies it!

Furthermore, it is jam-packed with technologically advanced features and its large bowl and strong battery are perfect for heavy, all-day users.

If you’re a vaping veteran who enjoys experimenting and creating bespoke sessions then the IQ is a vaporizer you should be considering.

Despite looking very similar, the MIQRO is for a casual user or even someone new to dry herb vaporizing. It guarantees one of the best vaping performances despite its price tag placing it only just above the ‘affordable vaporizer’ category.

If you only vape casually and require a small, stealthy device that gives you an opportunity to vape discreetly then the MIQRO is perfect for you.
